G8 SUMMIT
The G8 Summit takes place in Gleneagles, Scotland from the 6th-8th July 2005. However, there will be many events, demos and direct actions around Scotland in the days leading up to the summit.
The South-East Assembly are chartering trains from London to Edinburgh for the G8 Summit. For details see the transport page on this website.
The Dissent Network are organising convergeance and sleeping space in Edinburgh, Glasgow and an Eco-Village in a rural location. If you would like to help out with this in any way (by contributing time, money, cooking equipment etc. contact: reshape@riseup.net
TIMETABLE OF ACTIONS DURING G8

We will be working with local communities in Glasgow on the ongoing protests against the building of the M74 in Glasgow. There will be workshops with community members throughout May, an open day on Sunday 12th June and 2 weeks of work 13 -17th & 25th June-3rd July. Come along and get involved. Check out www.jam74.org. Sat 2nd July ‘Make Poverty History’ march in Edinburgh with ‘anti-capitalist presence’ (Make Capitalism History).
Sun 3rd July: Make Borders History:
A Magical Mystery Tour of Immigration Controls and the “Chain of Deportation” in Glasgow. We visit some of the magicians who help asylum seekers “disappear”. We will visit organisations involved in locking up and deporting Asylum seekers. Let’s join the dots in the picture of detention and deportation. Check out www.makebordershistory.org

Tues 5th July: Beacons of Dissent Beacons are to be lit on the hills south of the Gleaneagles Hotel on the night of Tuesday 5th July to send a clear message that the G8 “leaders” are not welcome. Beacons to be lit in solidarity around the UK.
Tues 5th July: Close Dungeval
As the leaders of the world’s most powerful states meet in luxury at Gleneagles, hundreds of people - including families with children - are imprisoned behind the razor wire of Scotland’s shame: Dungavel Immigration Removal Centre No borders demonstration to be held at Dungavel
